About Us

What may be quite obvious when you meet us is that we love diving and we love what we do. Our lives revolve around diving, the sea, underwater cameras and boats, not to mention what some might deem an unhealthy obsession with wind forecasts.

We want our shop to be one where you feel at home, where you are diving with friends. One where you feel safe and in professional hands.

Our stated hours are 7am to 4pm but we usually end up leaving much later after hanging out with our customers, identifying fish (Nishan is the man to talk to about this), discussing buoyancy (Jehan's domain) or cracking jokes (Nicolo and Nilanga) or reliving some crazy times exploring new sites in the island (Naren).

The only thing we are really missing is a dog but we have that on our checklist for next season, til then we have one-eyed Banda, the local ragamuffin pooch who has a penchant for chasing trains (hence the one-eye). We do not recommend that you pet him however!

The core team of Nishan Perera and Naren Gunasekera bring together experiences in marine and environmental science, underwater photography, and tourism, spiced with a passion for the ocean and Sri Lanka.

The rest of our team has additional experience in photography, marine research and technical diving as well as years of experience in the dive industry. No other dive operation in Sri Lanka matches us in the variety of our experience and combined knowledge about Sri Lanka’s reefs, wrecks and marine life.
So whether you are looking to dive historic wrecks, learn more about the animals you encounter on the reef, sharpen your underwater photography skills or simply learn to dive, we invite you to dive with us; and dive different.

Naren Gunasekera

Since starting to dive four years ago Naren has become somewhat of a dive addict. In addition to his extensive tropical diving, Naren is also able to recall some interesting stories of diving in cold Pacific Waters in the USA. An environmental scientist by training he is also an underwater photographer and has been featured in several national publications, while one of his images won the “Best Shot” award for June 2012 in Popular Photography magazine. He is actively involved in Sri Lanka’s conservation arena with photo contributions to the Environment Foundation Limited and IUCN Red List. He is currently developing a photo library of nudibranchs in Sri Lanka.
